Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is simply honey which has only been made by a Manuka Tree.

Manuka tree is native to New Zealand.  Manuka Honey differs from Generic Honey because it is significantly higher in an anti-bacterial compound called Methylglyoxal (MG).   This compound has been known to promote the health of the digestive system and help wounds heal.

Manuka Honey also contains a number of other known bio-active antibacterial components, which when combined with Methylglyoxal (MG) gives manuka honey it’s very powerful anti-bacterial properties.

Because many of these compounds are sensitive to farming methods, heat and light, then the quantities of these compounds of Manuka Honey can vary dramatically from one source of Manuka Honey to the other.
